Moon and Venus
Saturday evening, we emerged from a restaurant and were greeted by a lovely appearance in the western sky. A one-day-old crescent Moon, with Venus about 2° away, made a handsome pair just above the horizon and framed by nearby trees.

While the family hurried to a slightly warmer car, I steadied myself against the building and shot with the tiny Casio EX-Z50. (It was too cold to be precise.) Back home, I fiddled a bit with various corrections, then decided the most accurate rendition was to do nothing. If you look very intently, you can just see the earthshine which was quite visible to the eye.
